1. Data controller

2. What data we collect
When you open your mailbox we ask for: first and last name, ID card or passport number, date of birth, residential address in Panama (street, house or apartment number, city, province and postal code), phone/WhatsApp number, email address, chosen account type, promo code if applicable, and how you heard about our service.
During the service we also record: your mailbox code, tracking numbers and a general description of packages received in your name, weights, invoices issued and proof of payment, and the communications you have with our team.
We do not collect credit card data through the website.
3. What we use your data for
- To create and manage your mailbox and assign you a unique code.
- To receive, identify, register, store and deliver your packages.
- To issue invoices and manage payments.
- To contact you via WhatsApp, phone or email about the status of your packages, payments, quotes and service notices.
- To comply with legal, tax and customs obligations, including identifying the recipient when an authority requires it.
- To send you promotions, only if you gave us your express authorization to do so.
Your ID card or passport and date of birth are requested to identify you as the mailbox holder and to comply with recipient identification requirements for goods.
4. Legal basis
We process your data with your consent, given when you accept this policy in the sign-up form, and because it is necessary to provide the service you contract. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, and it may mean we can no longer provide the service to you.
5. Who we share your data with
We share your data only when necessary to provide the service:
- Transport and courier companies that make home deliveries and shipments to the interior of the country (for example, Servientrega), who receive your name, address and phone number.
- Providers of receiving, consolidation and transport services that are part of the logistics chain.
- Technology providers we use to operate (forms, email, cloud storage, invoicing).
- Public authorities, when required by law.
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
6. International transfer
Some of our technology and logistics providers operate outside Panama, so your data may be stored or processed in other countries. We require those providers to apply adequate protection measures and we limit the information shared to what is strictly necessary.
7. How long we keep your data
While your mailbox is active and, afterwards, for the period required by applicable tax, accounting and legal obligations in Panama. Once that period ends, the data is deleted or anonymized.
8. Your rights
Under Law 81 of 2019, you may at any time request access, rectification, cancellation, objection and portability of your personal data. To exercise them, write to facturacion.maildropbox@gmail.com stating your name, mailbox code and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within the deadlines established by law.
If you believe your rights have not been addressed, you may file a complaint with the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI).
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or alteration, including access control to our systems and mandatory confidentiality for all staff.
10. Minors
The service is intended for people over 18 years of age. We do not open mailboxes for minors.
11. Cookies
The website may use cookies for its operation and to measure visits. You can disable them in your browser settings. [Adjust according to the analytics tools that are finally installed.]
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date and, if the change is significant, we will notify you by email or WhatsApp.
